Alone in the house??

It’s Friday night and I have the house to myself! Well, I’m the only HUMAN at home at the moment; there are 15 canines with me

This time of year can be overwhelming with holiday parties and traditions and shopping alongside the regular stuff of living – work, meal prep, retirement planning, laundry (OMG, the laundry…) etc. We’re pretty lowkey when it comes to this holiday. But one thing, we always include in our xmas/new year celebration is a foster pet.

Or 12!!!

Every time I consider taking a break from rescuing a mom and her puppies, I just can’t bring myself to do it. Especially now. More than ever before, if I do not keep my foster spot filled, it means a pregnant dog or a litter will die.

I’m not being dramatic; that’s just the honest truth of our current situation in animal welfare.

And the more I get to know Jane and her amazing 11, the more I just cannot even think that they might not have had the opportunity to live. Let alone the opportunity to thrive.

We’re a very small rescue – one mom and her pups at a time – but we move them through to their forever homes. Since 2018, we’ve helped 162 dogs and puppies. That’s a lot of saves for one single family-based rescue!

Imagine if we’d taken a break. Imagine if we’d said we were too tired or turned a blind eye.

Don’t get me wrong – we incorporate selfcare into everything we do! Welcoming volunteers into our process, nurtures the pups’ development as well as our own souls. Magic happens in the Puppy Palace, and not just for the pups .

We couldn’t do it without YOU! I read every comment and respond to every donation. That feeds us.
