Jane – what a beauty!

Meet Jane. No Dick. Just Jane.

But she’s not ‘just’ anything. She is confident and soft, friendly and powerful. Her favorite place to sit is in your lap. Her favorite upright position is tail-a-waggin. She is an every-dog who was close to death because she is pregnant. We changed that.

Alive or dead. Pregnant or not. Win or lose. These are all binary conditions; there’s no middle ground, no grey area.

My team lost. This time around. But I’ve always found my power as the underdog. And that won’t change this time.

I’ve been kicked to the curb a number of times in my life. I’ve always found my way back. Each time, my recovery time is shorter and shorter. What I’ve learned is that MY power is just that – mine. If I allow someone to take it from me, that’s a choice.

So, my choice, just like Jane’s choice is power, resistance, and never-give-up.

All my life, I’ve been surrounded by strong intelligent women. We are rooted in service to others. None of that has changed.

This dog, one more Jane in a long line of strong, powerful Janes will help us find our way to keep helping, keep fighting, keep winning.
