First night

Mama and pups had a great first night.

First, let me thank Paul at Roadies & Rescues for transport help. Like that page and send a donation! They really saved time for me, that I spent getting the puppy area ready for this new family.

Mama is SOOOOO friendly! And she let us handle her pups. But at first, we were using the big pool and she didn’t seem to want to nurse.

So, in the evening, I took the pups out of the pool, onto a nice soft blanket. Mama sat down on the cold hard floor! I then, gently placed the pups next to her and they started nursing. She got more comfy and actually used the blanket to rest her head.

I switched out the big pool for a smaller enclosure. Voila, happy mama, happy family! She curled up with them and I’m guessing from their plump bellies this morning, they nursed all night!
