That’s a lot of puppies!

Jane is a very good mom. She’s doing everything she needs to do in order to nurture all 11 puppies.
We’re helping her by feeding her a lot of good, high quality food, taking her outside for potty breaks and listening to her communications.
One thing I’ve learned is that when a mama is comfortable, she’ll lie down, extended fully and let all the pups nurse. When she’s not comfortable, she’ll sit up or curl up into a small space, thereby limiting access to the feeding bar. Cause of the discomfort? Dirty or wet bedding, cold plastic of the baby pool enclosure on short fur.
So, I have a system of comforters, blankets and towels to make her nesting spot clean, dry and comfy. It’s also designed to be changed out half at a time. That also allows minimal handling of puppies and less stress for all.
Add a couple of space heaters and low lights and we have one happy mama, which in this case, makes for 11 happy puppies.
I love this work so much.
